Hi, I am Steve. I grew up and currently live on Long Island. My general interests are science and manufacturing. I’m a visual thinker and enjoy writing computational geometry algorithms and developing tools for computer aided design. I have contributed to several open source projects such as RepRap and the Julia programming language. You can read about my projects here. These days my focus is developing the Descartes solid modeling engine and some of the infrastructure around it.
My formal education is a B.S. in Mathematics from WPI, and M.S. in Technology Management from SUNY Farmingdale. Beginning in 2020 I will be a mechanical engineering student at SUNY Stony Brook, studying topology optimization in Professor Shikui Chen’s group.
